Primal Permission: Tribal Tantra Initiation is a 4-day immersion using the Elements of Nature, Tantric Ceremony, Shamanic Ritual, Embodied Intimacy, Conscious Dance and Social Meditation as tools to transform and empower our lives in a practical and lasting way.
Introduction to Primal Permission
Primal Permission is about embodying and transforming the darkness within us, the animal that scares us, and aligning with it so that its power can be available to us as a tool which we can use to create a more exhilarating and meaningful life.
During this weeklong retreat we will utilize many different practices to access and go deeply into our raw, wild instincts, ultimately re-connecting with a part of us we have been taught to ignore and look down upon. As a result we have become slaves to our divided minds, living in our heads without access to the intelligence already alive in our bodies. So we will go back into our bodies using both the YIN approach of slowing down the nervous system, gently allowing our bodies to open but also using the stronger YANG approach of digging into the muscles, desires, rage, intensity, the craziness and fully embodying that, and being seen and celebrated in the expression of our most primal animal being.
The suppression and repression of our natural, primal instincts requires a lot of energy. Once you begin to undo that suppression and repression an enormous amount of energy will be available to you that you can direct in a positive direction, instead of trying to keep the lid down. That is the essence of this work. Let’s get the lid off. Then, from there, we can move into mindfulness and the path of surrender.
We will create a supportive environment with a conscious community that doesn’t want to fall asleep into niceness but rather, is committed to truth and love.
We will study the Four “Ways” of Tribal Tantra which invite us to experience the possibility of Awakening by bringing experiences of non-duality into the places where we have learned to create the most separation (duality).
The Four ways of Tribal Tantra: Surrender, Connection, Wholeness and Seeing
1) The way of surrender: (Dancer) We learn the chakra system and begin to understand how energy moves and flows in our body. Through surrender, this energy may move freely, connecting us above and below.
2) The way of connection (Shaman/Elemental) We learn our relationship to the forces in this physical world, the elements, senses and tattvas which inform and enflame our experience of this body lifetime.
3) The way of wholeness (Tantrika/Spirit) We learn the true nature of our masculine and feminine essence and how to turn inward to discover that wholeness so as to meet the world in the overflow of love bubbling up from inside the self, versus seeking to find that pathway of love in another.
4) The way of Seeing (Artist) Here we open to the possibility that our most vulnerable places, those which create the most story and projection in order to remain hidden are in fact our greatest teachers and greatest gifts. We learn to allow ourselves to see and be seen in that most raw and real place and therein to find a unity within and without.
This retreat might be for you if…
*You have been longing for real connections, to be held by tribe in such a way that with their support you can thrive.
*You have been doing this solo trip for too long, you realize that you are afraid of committing, and so your biggest growth potential is with your most intimate relationships.
*You feel like you have lost touch with your body, who you are, and want to establish a greater sense of trust for yourself, your drives and your instincts.
Are you are ready to say YES to more love…YES to more adventure…Yes to being ALIVE versus simply living…YES to embodied passion…YES to expression without guilt, fear or shame…YES to living with consciousness and presence…YES to changing your life forever…YES to YOU!…then say YES and we will meet you there!

Warmly welcome to Primal Permission at Ängsbacka!
Buster’s dharma is being by example and leading with integrity. He literally wears his heart on his sleeve and has a reputation for pleasantly shocking an entire room with his candid emotional awareness and ability to reveal himself, transparently, no matter how awkward and messy it might look. His warm, open style gives permission for people to come home to themselves, embodied in an ecstatic atmosphere of vulnerability. Buster is an expert at gently guiding people into their bodies, through the shadow work, landing them safely into their heart, where vulnerable transparency is accessible and emotional intimacy becomes transformational.
All of Buster’s work including individual sessions, work with couples, and groups is focused on love, sex, and intimacy. He draws his approach from a journey of over a decade of living in intentional communities, combined with his studies and practices of various body-centered disciplines of awakening. Busters gift lies in his eloquent execution and powerful ability to create a safe space for individuals and groups to fearlessly navigate their emotional bodies as the pathway to liberation.
Buster began his career in Sweden as a professional dancer and choreographer (1991-2002). Over a period of six years, he also trained as a therapist at OSHO Humaniversity in the Netherlands (1996-2002). After a ten-year career in performing arts in Scandinavia Buster moved to the United States, where he studied and received his degree in psychology. For the last seven years Buster worked primarily as a body-centered psychotherapist with clients who struggle with trauma and addictions. Buster is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Certified Sex Addiction Therapist, and a trained Sensorimotor Psychotherapy therapist.
Rachel Rickards is an adventurous spirit in the realms of love, sex and relationship. Her natural exuberance gives permission to others to explore their authentic selves in uncharted territory. Her never ending enthusiasm and energy for the work of transformation and the ease of play at the same time is a huge gift adding depth coupled with perspective to everything she does. One of Rachel’s greatest contributions to a space is how she is able to embody the feelings of an individual or group field with such acute awareness, that one could almost observe her as the pure reflection of what is present in the field at any given moment.
With Rachel, comes a passion for relating and loving in alternative ways and helping people find their truth in the way they want to love and be loved. She has sincere empathy for the difficult path of relating outside of the box, but also great enthusiasm for the spiritual journey it is to find your own relationship to relating with others, and ultimately, most importantly, to yourself. More recently, Rachel has been thriving in her work with women empowerment, helping her clients to find their voice and define their boundaries; to live life actively owning the kind of relationship their heart desires. With personal and professional training in psychology, sex therapy and alternative/open relationship counseling, she is committed to helping others find their full creative expression in life and love.
Eugene Hedlund, the founder of the School of Tribal Tantra has been teaching these transformational arts around the globe since 2008. Eugene is also a sought after tantric counselor who has supported many individuals and couples in their quest to live a fully embodied and empowered life where love and expression are limitless. A popular festival presenter, Eugene has begun to focus his energy on training others as a way to support a wider audience to come into their power and begin sharing their gifts with the world.
He leads workshops and trainings in the US, Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia. Eugene is constantly inspired and re-inspired by the invitation to share sacred circles where seekers gather to open their hearts and invite others to do the same.
Eugene created The School of Tribal Tantra as a gateway to accelerate those who are ready to step into their mastery. Eugene’s core passion is to use these tools and gifts in an integrated way which best serves each student.

“I am fairly passionate about life. I want to live a life where I can truly meet people, behind the stories. There came a point where I discovered that the stories were not protecting me, they were keeping me from being in that raw total connection. We need each other to go to that deep level. That’s what Tribal Tantra is about.
I am not here to offer anything new, but to help us remember something old, something true, something that has always been…that you are complete. You are enough. You are worthy of loving and being loved.”
