Children & Youth

Welcome to a Midsummer Celebration for all ages!

Our intention is to create a magic weekend for the whole family. There will be plenty of time to hang out with each other and play together. There will be workshops for families to join and some suitable for both youths and adults. Also the opening/closing and morning meetings will be for all ages and we really hope you will bring your children there to sing and dance together.

On a central spot in our beautiful garden you will find the children’s tent where there will be lots of opportunities for creativity and having fun together.

During certain times on Friday and Saturday, there will be childcare for all children form the age of 4 and up, to play, sing and try out different activities. There will be a great team of workshop leaders and volunteers taking good care of our beautiful children. During these hours parents are given the opportunity to attend workshops on their own.

Sara Bonadea George

MIDSUMMER IN OLD FOLK-BELIEF. On a magical world-view and on plants for sorcery and healing.

"Get closer to a world that may seem far away in modern society- the magical world of old folk-belief and folk-magic."

Sara holds a MA in Folkloristics/Ethnology from Uppsala University. She is also a herbalist, trained at Folkhögskolan Biskops-Arnö. Now she teaches folk magic and folk medicine in herbalist schools, amongst them Biskops-Arnö. During summers Sara works in a herbal garden where she gives guided tours on medical herbs and on plants in old folk-belief.

She finds it fascinating that, not so long ago, a magical world-view was natural to a majority of people in Sweden. This spiritual past is something Sara finds endlessly inspiring to bring back. To do this during Midsummer is perfect since this was a time considered to be particularly magical. During Sara´s workshop you will learn about old magical lore and get inspiration to create your own Midsummer customs based upon this.

Frej Martin

Poi and Flow Arts Instructor, Fire Dance Initiator

You may dance with fire.
Fire dances with itself.

When I was a child, Circus Charlie was pitching their giant tent right outside the child-care I was in. I stood glued to the fence when one of the tent workers called me over with a wave of his hand. So I jumped the fence and ran over to the circus. Though I didn't run away with them, I did still learn to juggle that day.
Since then circus arts has always been a hobby in my life, and doing the last 5 years it has become somewhat professional, both as performer and teacher.
My preferred arts is Poi (Maori word for "ball on string") and generally those of flow arts, which include staffs and hoop as well.
The fire dancing is naturally a big part of this practise, and if one is grounded enough I find it a formidable way to connect to source. It is typically much less intimidating than people suspect. I shall be honored to teach poi classes and initiate new Fire Dancers at this year's Midsummer Festival.

Hatha Yoga and Yoga Nidra

"Quiet the mind, and the soul will speak" Majaya Sati Bhagavati

Influenced by my teachers, peers, environment and my travels, I aim to bring a unique sense of self study and common-unity to my classes.

Through intention, meditation, pranayama and asana, my goal is to have my students leaving each class feeling refreshed and renewed.

Teaching yoga in a wide range of styles from Hatha to vinyasa, I provide an opportunity to explore the spiritual through the physical, hoping to bring the study of yoga off the mat and in to the practice of Life.

Yoga is a way to focus within, and by doing so expand our awareness, bringing increased responsibility to live in alignment.
