for Parents & Children
~ Special “post No Mind” Workshop ~
with David Cates
Parent and child is one of the most profound loves we can experience as humans.
Yet our children grow away from us. Their lives move into school and playmates, while ours become consumed once more with work and adult concerns. If we don’t bridge these changes as they happen, they can easily lead to the slammed doors and dark silences of adolescence.
Belly2Belly – a profound connection
What if there was a simple practice, a daily game, that brought us back together for ten precious minutes every day? Deeper than words: the profound connection of body to body, belly to belly, heart to heart?
What would you give to have your child, at every age from infant to teen, melt into your arms again? Would you be willing to learn a simple breathing practice that took you both out of your mind and into your body, where the two of you could meet in a space of unconditional love?
Belly2Belly is a partnered breathing meditation based on pranayama (breathing) exercises and current neurobiological research. Science shows us why these exercises work: by activating the polyvagal nervous system, soothing the enteric brain, shifting us out of flight/fight/freeze, and flooding the body with oxytocin (the bonding hormone that emotionally connects mother and baby during breastfeeding).
I’ve been using variations of these practices for 40 years in my professional work as a trauma recovery therapist and healer working with intimacy issues.
Special No Mind Workshop
For the No Mind this summer, the festial coordinators have inspired me to share my latest explorations with this simple magic. During the Festival, and in this special two-day workshop after, we’ll be learning
and practicing the skills you need to take this home to your family!
We’ll play with variations that appeal to toddlers, school-age children, tweens and teenagers, of all personality types. We’ll work with different approaches for mothers and fathers, for siblings
to play the Belly2Belly Game with each other… and for parents to deepen their own partnership.
Bring your kids to one of the workshops we offer during the Festival. Try it with your family. Then decide if you might want to stay at Angsbacka for 2 days after the Festival, to learn everything you need to take this practice home… and to keep the sacred bond of parent/child alive and breathing for a lifetime.
With Love and Excitement,
- The course is in English.
- The course has limited spots, book your ticket as soon as possible to ensure your participation.
Warmly welcome to Belly2Belly at Ängsbacka!
David Cates has devoted 44 years of his adult life to exploring intimacy and connection. He travels the world as a deeply respected tantra teacher, intimacy healer, mentor and beloved elder.
He created the Belly2Belly practice so random strangers can move together into a palpable shared experience of trust and loving connection. His recent explorations involve using tantric embodiment practices to create synchronized group heart fields. Ängsbacka will be the largest group heart field ever generated with this practice.
At the No Mind Festival, David will be guiding partners and groups in this dynamic experience of Oneness. For the first time in Europe, he will be introducing a new, profoundly simple way for parents and children of all ages to synchronize their nervous systems and regain their original state of innocent trust and connection.
